All Ford Nationals – Weekend in Carlisle PA

| Well another ALL Ford Nationals at Carlisle is in the books. Just another fantastic year for the ITC at Carlisle! With the exception of the late day cloud burst/flash flood that swamped the many feet trying to stay dry in the ITC tent and the drizzle that we encountered to start the night off at Family Ford, the rest of the weekends weather was great! Seems we just can not get through the entire three days without a little bit of rain, but I think it is fair to say that we did far better than last year! Who knows maybe next year we can get to the Family Ford event on dry pavement! Speaking of Family Ford , once again I take my hat off to the most Thunderbird Friendly Ford Dealership that there could possibly be. Family Ford again opened its lot for all of our Thunderbirds to flock to as they did last year. I can not say enough about Family Ford for all that they do to make us all feel like we have a Home away from Home in Carlisle. They open their lot for our cars, their service bay to keep us dry and feed all of the participants hot dogs, chips, sodas and water while a DJ kept the music going from the show room, then hand out a few trophies to the friendly crowd. The ITC joined again this year by NATO (the North American TurboCoupe Organization for 1983-1988 Turbo Coupes) to share the evening and a new Thunderbird club participating this year was TBN (ThunderBird Nest for 2002-2005 Thunderbirds). We did encounter a little rain during the event but the skies cleared a bit and we were all able to mill around the lot enjoying the 45 Thunderbirds that made there way to this Thunderbird Oasis. As was the case last year Family Ford also provided trophies for four classes for the Thunderbird participants as well as a drawing for several lucky owners of 100th Anniversary of Ford Memorabilia kits that I have never seen in the past! All in all what could one ask for Thunderbird Owners As usual the ITC tent was a busy place all weekend long. Many new and long time ITC members were found manning the tent all during the weekend. I was really surprised by how well the ITC was represented when the awards were posted on Sunday morning including two of the Celebrity picks. I was very happy to have been picked by Carlisle Events to be part of the Celebrity Judging for this years event. It was really great to get the chance to walk around and take the time to pick that one special car out to make someone’s day that they received an award during the event!
