On the venue at this date, here are some tentatively scheduled events. Details will be provided on the registration form. You will find the registration both at the website, as well as in the Script. These are some of the highlights…
• Kick off the week with an arrival party at Jim and Diane Rugg’s home on Tuesday, August 9. Many members and officers of the Classic Thunderbird Club of Wisconsin (CTCW) will be there.
• Wednesday, August 10 has a grand lineup of special events and sights to see: First, you’ll have the opportunity to tour the Harley-Davidson Powertrain Operations Plant built in 1998 (a year after the last ITC convention in Wisconsin). The plant was designed to provide space for production of BigTwin Powertrains, including a significant amount of engine & transmission component machining.
• Then it’s on to see the Milwaukee Art Museum, and the incredible new addition designed by world-renowned architect Santiago Calatrava, which opened to visitors in May 2001. Please see article in November/December 2004 Script.
• Satisfy your craving for food & nostalgia in a 1950’s atmosphere with our cruise to Wayne’s Drive-In.
• Thursday’s agenda includes a road trip and visit to Old World Wisconsin. You will find an article regarding this historical place in Wisconsin in this issue of the Script.
• BBQ in the backyard? Yes, on Friday we will have a Wisconsin backyard BBQ in the beautiful surroundings of the hotel’s grounds.
In order to participate in convention events, it is recommended that you reserve your hotel rooms in advance to ensure a room. The hotel has recently gone through renovations and will be a coveted place to stay. To make your reservations, contact the Country Springs Hotel Water Park-Conference Center at (800) 247-6640 & get the reduced rate by telling the personnel that you are an ITC Thunderbird Club attendee. For more information about the hotel, go to http://www.countryinnhotel.com. We will be happily awaiting the time when August comes to see our all our ITC friends. |
